Our Projects: Investing in Community and Well-being

Investing in Community and Well-being

The purpose that bring us together.

At Yagua Eco-Lodge, our commitment extends beyond sustainable tourism to active participation in the development and well-being of our local community. Our projects are designed to create a positive, lasting impact in Tamshiyacu and the wider district of Santa Ana, aligning with our core purpose of fostering shared value.

What do this mean?!

A dedicated percentage of our revenue is channeled into a community fund, which is allocated in direct consultation with local leaders to ensure our efforts meet the most pressing priorities.

The
Classroom Initiative: Empowering Our Youth

Primary Focus: Enhancing Educational Foundations at N° 6043 Primary School, Santa Ana Zone 1.

Our flagship initiative is dedicated to strengthening the foundational pillars of education at the local primary school. N° 60043. The primary objective is to systematically improve the resources available for teaching and learning. This begins with the provision of essential implements, including textbooks, notebooks, writing instruments, art supplies, and modern teaching aids such as whiteboards.

A critical sub-goal is to create an environment that attracts and retains qualified teachers by ensuring a safe, well-equipped, and conducive workspace for both educators and students. Our long-term vision is to guide the school's development according to internationally recognized benchmarks, specifically the UNICEF Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) framework. This model provides a holistic standard for creating inclusive, effective, healthy, and protective learning environments.

Our objective is to improve both the quality and quantity of available medical supplies, ensuring effective primary care for common local health concerns.

The intervention will be implemented in phases. The initial phase focuses on the most critical needs: ensuring a reliable supply of medicines to prevent common illnesses from progressing to severe stages, including antimalarials, antiparasitics, and antibiotics.

Subsequent phases will address the management of diseases like Dengue and maintenance medications for chronic conditions such as hypertension. Our operational framework is guided by international best practices, drawing from the Sphere Handbook's minimum standards for health systems and operating in alignment with World Health Organization (WHO) protocols, all within the structure of the Peruvian Ministry of Health's regulations.

Through these focused projects, we strive to create a virtuous cycle where tourism directly contributes to the sustainable development of our community, enhancing the quality of life for residents and enriching the experience for every visitor.
